Sheriff Clay Parker is a fifth generation law enforcement officer, U.S. Army
veteran and is serving his third four-year term as the Sheriff of Tehama
County.
Sheriff Parker is Chairman of the North State Sheriffs’ Group, Chairman of
the California Multi-jurisdictional Methamphetamine Enforcement Team (CALMMET)
Northern Region representing the 19 Northern Counties, Chairman of the
CALMMET North State Initiative, the President of the California
State Sheriffs’ Association, is a Past President of the Western States
Sheriffs’ Association which is comprised of the 13 Western States and 756
Sheriffs, a member of the National Sheriffs’ Association and is a graduate
of the FBI National Academy.
Sheriff Parker was honored by the California Rifle and Pistol Association as
the 2007 Peace Officer of the Year at their annual banquet in Orange County.
Sheriff Parker is very active in the community and is on the Board of
Directors of the Red Bluff Kiwanis Club, President of the Board of Directors
of Alternatives to Violence, the Board of Directors of the Tehama County
Police Activities League, a member of the Tehama County Mental Health Board,
a member of the Tehama County Interagency Coordination Council, a member of
the Adult Felon Drug Court and an Executive Board member of Fight
Crime-Invest in Kids California.
Sheriff Parker has been married to his wife Lilly Parker for over
twenty-five years and Lilly now works at the Tehama County Department of
Child Support Services after working at the Sheriff’s Office for seventeen
years as a Dispatcher.
A Message from Sheriff Parker

past eight years, we have met many of the goals that I had set for the
office when I became Sheriff. With the added duties of Coroner and Director
of Animal Regulation, I feel that our office will be able to better serve
our community and continue to subscribe to our official motto of
