Inmate Work Crews
Some inmates
housed at the Jail are low risk inmates who provide labor as inmate workers.
Most of them have jobs and work every day. Some have been able to keep their
own personal jobs and work daily, returning to the facility after work. A
percentage of their earnings are paid to the program for expenses.
One of
the Inmate Work Crews is responsible for keeping our County roadways clean.
About twice a week, the crew goes out and clean the roadsides. They bag the
trash and contact the Tehama County Road Department, who pick up the bags
and transport them to the dump.
Tehama
County inmates provide over 50,000 hours labor annually. Inmates leave the
facility every day to go to their assigned jobs at various departments and
public organizations in Tehama County which include but are not limited to:
