Lieutenant
Donald Thomas
began his law enforcement career in 1984 as a Reserve Police Officer for the
City of Red Bluff, and then a Reserve Deputy Sheriff for Tehama County prior to
his full time employment in 1986. Don worked assignments in the jail, and then
patrol prior to being promoted to Detective in 1991.
In 1993, Don promoted to
Sergeant, again working assignments in both the jail and patrol. As a Sergeant
Don commanded the T.I.D.E. Task Force, and would later become one of the
agencies range masters, a Tehama Inter-Agency S.W.A.T. team leader, and
supervisor the Sheriff’s Dive Team.
In 2007, Don promoted to Lieutenant and was assigned to Administration,
overseeing the operations of the newly acquired Coroner’s Office, Boating
Enforcement, Civil, Evidence/Records, and special investigations. As of 2011,
Don was assigned to Operations where he oversees the field activities (patrol,
dispatch, investigations, boating enforcement, Coroner investigations, and
reserve deputy unit) of
the agency.
